Refilio ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile application that helps Filipino drivers track fuel prices, calculate trip costs, and log drives. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

1. Information We Collect

2. Guest Mode

You can use Refilio without creating an account. In guest mode, all data (vehicle profiles, trip history) is stored locally on your device only. No data is transmitted to our servers.

3. Location Data

Location data is collected only when:

You explicitly enable Drive Mode, which uses background GPS to detect and record trips.
You use the Map screen to view your position or plan routes.

Location data is used solely for app functionality. We do not sell, share, or use location data for advertising or tracking purposes. You can disable Drive Mode or revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.

4. How Data Is Stored

Local storage: Vehicle profiles, trip history, and preferences are stored on your device using AsyncStorage.
Cloud sync: If you create an account, your data may be synced to our backend (powered by Supabase) to enable cross-device access and backup.

5. Third-Party Services

Refilio uses the following third-party services:

Supabase — Authentication and cloud data storage. Privacy policy
OpenStreetMap — Map tiles and geographic data. Privacy policy
OSRM (Open Source Routing Machine) — Route calculation and distance estimation.
Overpass API — Discovering nearby gas stations.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

6. Data Sharing

We do not:

Sell your personal data to anyone
Share your data with advertisers
Use your data for tracking or profiling
Transmit data to third parties beyond the services listed above

7. Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Cloud-synced data (for registered users) is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

8. Children's Privacy

Refilio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Request correction or deletion of your data
Revoke location permissions at any time via device settings
Use the app in guest mode without providing personal information
Delete your account and all associated cloud data

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure authentication through Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
